Definition: The flaps on an all purpose saddle are more generously cut forward to allow for a rider who occasionally wants to to jump. The billet straps are short, unlike a dressage saddle. This is the saddle many riders have if they want to show on the flat and in classes like hunter hack and hunter over fences. It's also suitable for the rider who likes to hack and perhaps pop their horse over a fallen log on the trail.
