Parts of the Horse--The Neck

#2: This horse has a rather short neck in proportion to its body.

K. Blocksdorf 2006
Definition: The neck connects the head to the shoulders, starting at the poll and terminating at the withers. Ideally the neck should be in proportion, the muscle along the top of the neck should be stronger than the muscles on the underside.
Examples:
the foal's neck was not long enough to reach the ground to graze.
