The Definition of Ground Manners

Definition: Behaviors like standing quietly tied, walking on a lead obediently, being groomed and having hooves handled are good ground manners. Many horses may be a pleasure to ride, but are pushy and rude when the handler is on the ground. Good ground manners makes a horse safer, easier and more pleasurable to handle.
Examples:
My horse had poor ground manners, and until I trained him, never stood still while tied.
