Answer: It is possible for any horse to be exposed to the protozoa responsible for EPM to develop symptoms. If your horse is stabled or pastured where opossums may lived, or even just visited, or you go to an event in another place where opossums might be, your horse could get EPM. Remember however, that many, many horses are exposed to EPM, but never develop symptoms.
