Buying Your First Equestrian Property

Owning acres of lush pasture filled with healthy horses is the dream of many of us. There are lots of things to consider before making a decision however. Buying land is an expensive endeavor. The problem with land is, of course, is that they just aren't making it anymore and urban areas are encroaching on areas that were formerly thought of as 'backwoods'. Buying a home for you and your horse requires a lot of careful planning, beyond just the financial aspects of the transaction. You want to have land that is suitable for keeping horses, and not every inch of this continent is.

You also have to consider pasture, buildings and a place for you to live too (as much as you think you wouldn't mind sleeping in the barn).
