Monday August 11, 2008
Many of you have asked when you can watch the equestrian events at the 2008 Olympics.

Linda Algotsson of Sweden riding Stand By Me clears the Lantern jump during the Eventing Cross Country event on August 11.
The United States Equestrian Federation has posted a schedule with channels and times of events that will be aired. Those of us north of the border can watch on CBC channels. The CBC website has a broadcast schedule so you can plan your viewing.

Thanks so much for the tv schedule! It’s so frustrating having to wait to find out what’s going on.

It’s great to finally find the schedule, it looks like I caught all that was broadcast for the three days of eventing.

Where can I find live internet broadcast for dressage and show jumping?

I have yet to view any video equestrian events. Why?

What you will be able to watch will depend on the television channels you have available and the times they are broadcast.

Thank you so very much. I feel bad for those who don’t have the means to view the Equestrian events. It’s time for the main channels to wake up. There are people out there who are interested in events other than swimming, gymnastics, and womens beach volleyball.

How are the horses transported around the world, by plane?

I was up early enough (in California) to catch the internet live broadcast of the dressage freestyle, it was stunning! When I saw the evening coverage (on Oxygen) I had a better and bigger picture – broadcast in High Definition — BUT == with all the babbling by the commentators had me yelling shut up! at the screen. They mentioned Anky’s $80,000 music especially for her freestyle … viewing in the morning it was all so breathtaking, but at night with all the chatter I finally had to mute, thank heavens I can do that. Dressage is so beautiful at this level, and the freestyle is fantastic. All that blabber really ruined my enjoyment, it was so intrusive and annoying. Luckily the video reruns do not have the commentary. Haven’t been able to access dressage tonight, have watched team show jumping and there is no commentary. Yay!
