Blanketing and ice in your water bucket
- If your horses spend most of their time outside or live outside then you should make sure you blanket them. Even if they are kept in a barn make sure your barn is kept warm. Make sure you keep ice out of your horses water!!!!! You can do this by getting a water heater or by simply using steaming hot water in your bucket so it doesn't freeze.

Beet Pulp
- I feed beet pulp in the winter so my horses are eating something with moisture in it besides dry hay. I make it pretty wet.
