Blanketing and ice in your water bucket

If your horses spend most of their time outside or live outside then you should make sure you blanket them. Even if they are kept in a barn make sure your barn is kept warm. Make sure you keep ice out of your horses water!!!!! You can do this by getting a water heater or by simply using steaming hot water in your bucket so it doesn't freeze.

Winter horse tips

I give my four horses a warm mash during cold months. Just add hot water to their grain and it warms them right up!

I put blankets on my horses at night, during the day with the Sun out there is no need to blanket

Blanket Them!

If your horses live outside all the time or most of the time, blanket them. Especially if you get snow and if it gets below 0 Degrees!

Beet Pulp

I feed beet pulp in the winter so my horses are eating something with moisture in it besides dry hay. I make it pretty wet.
