To find a dream horse
- 1, First avoid transportation issues and post a note at all tack and feed stores within 50 miles of your home. "Will give good home to a good, ridable horse." Of course everyone thinks they have a good horse. If you are a beginner, take someone you trust with with so you are not "wowed" by a great looking horse that could kill you. Recently I found homes for excellent horses by sending e-mails to members of the Horse Council of Nevada. 19 of them were purebred Arabians. All found homes within two days. Many people are unable to keep horses these days. Some people also gave away the left-over hay and feed. Send that message to all horse associations in your area. 2, There is a web site called Dreamhorse.com. It lists horses by state and breed. Several of us found great horses there at reasonable prices. 3, Make everyone you know, horse person or not, aware that you are looking for a good horse.
