Describe your horse when you first got it.

I volunteered at a non profit program for young teens last year. I got involved with Charlie-an older Belgian draft . I had to leave for personal reasons The opportunity came up for me to buy him August 1st 2009. He was 400-500 lbs underweight.

Describe your horse now.

I have had charlie 3 months now.-I have him on a diet recommended by a vet-senior pellets complete feed with beet pulp-and platinum performance equine I had his teeth-feet-vacinnations-worming done. He is doing great1

About my rescued horse

Charlie is my heart and my best friend-we have saved each other. Before I met charlie-I was suffering from severe sleep apnea, major depression, bipolar-and weighed 200 lbs. I had retired on disability from my gov job of 22 yrs and was suicidal. The mental health doctors were putting me on diff psychiatric meds-I was a mess.

Today-I have Charlie-I weigh 150 lbs-I am no longer seeing mental health drs or taking meds

Charlie is a special-spiritual-funny - big goofa guy. We love each other very much.

I take pics of him all the time.

I love every aspect of taking care of him.

How I Did It:

I bought charlie to save him-a friend that worked where he was knew how much I loved him and knew I would take care of him -she worked on the woman that ran the progrHow I did itam-I finally got him. I had a vet come do his teeth -and we started him on his sr diet and the platinum performance 3 x day with hay i8n between to play with-I got a draft farrier to start doing his feet every 6 weeks-had his vaccinations done-started worming schedule-he gets a lot of love and attention where I board him-all the woman love him-

I go every day and clean up his pen-do carrot stretchers with him-ride him some-walk him -sing to him-scratch his big belly-he loves it when he gets scratche-patted-he loves it when I sing and talk to him-we went on our 1st 4 mile trail ride this week-he did great!

I pray that God lets this horse live a long time-he deserves the care vhe is getting now and he is such a survivor and brings so much joy to all that lay eyes on him.
