Thank you Daisy for letting a girl's dreams ride free.

What I Miss Most About My Horse

Her. She did not have to do anything but be Daisy.

My Horse's Special Characteristics

She was as bombproof a horse one could ask for. I could trust her with my youngest child

What We Accomplished Together

Daisy helped start my petting zoo. If it wasn't for her willingness to walk in endless circles to entertain children Anne's Ark would have never taken off

Anything Else You'd Like to Share

Daisy was old when we got her for my oldest daughter. But she let me allow my children to live the life I wish I could have had. Our youngest was riding Daisy before she could walk. Daisy brought joy to so many horseless children at the petting zoos she did.

Horse's Name, Color, Breed and Age

Her name was Daisy she was a Welsh Pony strawberry roan and was 33 when she died. She left us with her 5 month old baby Cajun Country Little Miracle.

How Long Did Your Own Your Horse, Where Was It From?

We had Daisy for 6 years and bought her from a lady whose daughter had used her for showing but out grew her. Daisy had done many things in her long life. She was a show horse and a therapy horse but I think she enjoyed just being a horse for the last couple of years and getting to run free on our mountain with the other 8 horses we had. Every now and again we would ride her but she had earned her retirement.

She died Sept 10, 2009

Lessons learned

  • We learned all about horses under her patient care. My kids learned the joy of just having horses and all the hard work. We held our breath while we watched her grow round with her only child and we hope to honor her memory by allowing her son to have a wonderful life in our care. We learned how much it hurts to loose a friend and the joy of knowing she is waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for us young and free.
