How Long Have You Owned & Where Did You Get Your Horse?
I have owned Missy for four years, the best four years of my life, and bought her from a Canadian who lives in Connecticut. It was his father's horse who he was no longer physically able to ride or drive but still very special to him and his wife.
Advice
- I'm not sure I would buy one as an endurance horse although we are doing our first 25-mile ride this weekend and we shall see. Other than that I have no cons, I would recommend highly this breed.
What Is the Best Characteristic of This Breed?
Their temperament is amazing! The most level headed horse I have ever been around. She is wise and calm and sturdy!
Is There a Challenging Aspect of Owning This Breed?
They can be stubborn, although once leadership is established and consistent they are very reliable.
Do You find This Breed Requires Any Special Care?
The nickname "Little Iron Horse" speaks for itself. These are hardy, fantastic feet, easy keeper horses. No special special care required other than they deserved to be appreciated for the amazing animal that they are.
