Your Horse's Name, Age and Bloodline

My mare is Nicknamed Fancy Pants, her registered name is Cinders Fantacy. She is 10 years and I bought her 5 years ago. She is just a sweetheart with the temperament of a much older horse. She acts like a 3 yr old when a experienced rider is on her, her get up and go is like lightning, but when a kid is on her she has one gear......slow. She is just as cute as she is smart. She has been doing gymhkana with my grand kids for 2 years, If one grand child rides her she can do the barrels in 16, if the next, she does 22 and this year the youngest grandkid is riding her so she will likely do 35-40 He is not as experienced.

How Long Have You Owned & Where Did You Get Your Horse?

I have owned her for 5 years, I purchased her as just started, and she bucked off the person selling her. SO I bought her. Her attitude is just great since then, she can move cows and cut them like a pro, but she has never been taught. She is not only beautiful but smart.

Advice

  • If you buy a Arab, yes they can be a bit jumpy, but go with your head not your heart. Take time to see how she or he reacts to the NOW owner. Try to buy a well seasoned horse. Take your time choosing. Not all Arabs are the same. Don't believe everything you hear about them being skittish, not true! They are more alert and have just a faster reaction to things.

What Is the Best Characteristic of Arabians?

The best is their looks....they are beautiful. they're fast and have lots of endurance. STUDY ALL THE ASPECTS OF THE HORSE BEFORE BUYING, some are more excitable then others. Definitely not for the inexperienced.

Is There a Challenging Aspect of Owning This Breed?

Yes for sure. They are are a challenge but worth every minute you spend with them.

Do You find This Breed Requires Any Special Care?

No special care. some, like all horses are hard keepers. They are a strong breed and can cope with most things that you can throw at them.

In a nutshell my horse is...

just a dream, and I have all kinds but when we go for a ride the first question out of anyone's mouth is: Can I ride Fancy???
