The Definition of Creep Feeder

By , About.com Guide

Definition: A creep feeder is a feeder designed so that small foals can eat concentrates, but older horses will not be able to access the feed. It can be purchased or built and is often made like a small pen with rails high enough for foals to get under, but too low for older horses to squeeze under. A foal feeder has slotted cover over a bin that foals can put their noses through but bigger horses can't. These are also sometimes called creep feeders.
Pronunciation: k r ē p f ē d ûr
Also Known As: foal feeder
