Definition: A carrot stick is an artificial aid used by practitioners of the Parelli method of training. It is more rigid than a whip and can be used to push the horse away from you as well as cue for specific behaviors. Carrot sticks are about 4ft (1.2 m) and 3/4 inch (1.8 cm) in diameter. May have a long lash attached that in Parelli terms is called a savvy string.
