Bell boots

Two types of bell boots. One is made of a rubber like material, the blue; heavy reinforced fabric with a hook and loop fastener closing.

Definition: Rubber, leather or synthetic hoods that are with slipped on over the hoof or wrapped around the hoof and secured with hook and loop fastener. Bell boots prevent the horse from hurting itself when one hind hoof over reaches and hits the front hoof. The are commonly used in jumping, speed games and transport. They are called bell boots because of their bell shape.
