Definition: Rubber, leather or synthetic hoods that are with slipped on over the hoof or wrapped around the hoof and secured with hook and loop fastener. Bell boots prevent the horse from hurting itself when one hind hoof over reaches and hits the front hoof. The are commonly used in jumping, speed games and transport.
