Definition: A horse that lifts its knees high while walking, trotting (jogging) or cantering (loping) is said to have action or high knee action. In some horse and pony breeds such as American Saddlebreds, Hackney Horses and Ponies and Tennessee Walking Horses this is desirable. In dressage horses and Western pleasure horses this is not desirable. Action is not collection.
