One of our horses broke the snap on his halter about two weeks after I bought it for him. He was likely playing tug-of-war with another horse, judging by the teeth marks on the end of the crown piece. Whatever the reason, I'm always happier that the halter breaks, than have the horse get caught up in something and be hurt. That's why if my horses must wear halters, I like inexpensive break-away halters (Compare Prices).

So here is our almost new halter with a broken snap. The snap is easily repaired without sewing or any other complicated procedure.
