The Bottom Line

The Professional's Choice Wrangler Flysheet is an attractive, nicely fitting, easy to clean sheet. It fits our Arab like it was custom made. Most importantly it cut down on the swishing and twitching when the biting insects were bad. We were confident enough about the fit to leave the sheet on overnight to protect the horse when the mosquitoes were really vicious.

Guide Review - Fly Sheet

We were impressed with this fly sheet the moment we unpacked it. It is an attractive sheet made of mesh similar to that seen on patio furniture cushions. It fits beautifully and the deep gusset gives plenty of room through the shoulder area and helps prevent rubbing. We were more impressed when the horse wearing the sheet rolled. The sheet didn’t budge an inch. Using snaps instead of traditional blanket hooks makes it easier for fingers but harder for a nosey horse to unfasten.

We also like that cleaning is as easy as throwing it over the fence and rinsing it with the garden hose. It drys very quickly. After several wearings the blanket still looks new. The only thing we miss on this sheet is a tail cover and option of putting a neck cover on. The sheet does fit well over the haunches that the horse is covered right to the tail, which perhaps makes the tail cover unnecessary. The sizing seems dead-on. The sheet does not seem to fit larger or smaller than the sizes indicate. For sun and heat reflective qualities I would recommend the tan over the blue.
