C- The Joints on a Snaffle Bit

Photo 2008 K. Blocksdorf
C: The joint of the snaffle bit can take many shapes as well. This particular bit is a ‘French Link’ with its peanut shaped link in the middle. Many snaffles have a single link in the middle and some have no link. Links can also be ball shaped, oblong, have a small port, or can be flat and square. Any variation changes the severity of the bit slightly.
