Appearance:
This is an antique full cheek snaffle with ornate cheek pieces. It has a jointed and knurled mouthpiece. The knurls don’t appear to have any purpose beyond decoration as they are not in a position where they would have much effect on the tongue or bars. This example has a jointed mouthpiece.
Uses:
This bit would likely be used on a formal driving team.
How it Works:
This bit would work in a similar manner to a regular full cheeked snaffle. The broken mouthpiece would have a nutcracker effect when the bit is activated.
