Hot Forum Discussions: Why Does My Horse Paw While Eating?

Tuesday February 12, 2008
"I have recently bought two Halflingers who paw violently and kick the stall with their front feet while eating. They also bang their feed bucket violently. I have tried several things even putting their stalls far apart so they won't feel confrontational while eating. I have tried feeding on the ground in a rubber feeder and nothing helps. If I stand next to them while eating they will stop but keep raising their legs like they are trying to control themselves. It is not only annoying but they pull their shoes off and their behavior is not appreciated at shows." Dunraven1
