When my horse Freya died I kept a large tuft of her tail. I planned to make something out of it, but have been stumped for an idea. Thanks to a forum post, I've been introduced to the idea of horse hair jewlery by nannasalmi. The weaves are intricate and beautiful and can be combined with attractive gems and findings.

Thanks for the article on horse hair jewelry. I’ve been doing some web shopping to find a jeweler to create a necklace from my horse’s hair. There is a site, Solenaro Designs Horsehair Jewelry, that seems to have jewelry designs that exceed in originality and form the others that are available on the web. I’ve e asked around my local horse community and indeed heard nothing but rave reviews about their jewelry.
