A Full Weekend: Dressage and Hunting
Monday September 25, 2006
This was a very busy weekend for us. On Friday my daughter and I competed at a local dressage show held at a fall fair. This was my first experience riding a dressage test and I have a new appreciation for what very hard (but fun) work it is. I even brought home 5th and 4th place ribbons! My daughter placed 6th on her new pony and she was very pleased as this was the pony's first experience at a horse show. Fall fairs tend to be busier than regular horse shows and she was very satisfied with the pony's demeanor in the face of balloon carrying children, tooting steam engines and other scary things. On Sunday our Pony Club was invited to a mock hunt. I decided to stay on foot--I think I was still shakey from Friday--but it gave me a chance to take lots of photos. My daughter, again on her new pony Zarzamora, look very pleased with themselves in this picture. I've posted a few more in the Brag About It folder on the forum. Photo 2006 K. Blocksdorf
