How To Deal with a Horse That Bites

Wednesday May 10, 2006
A reader asked how to stop her horse from biting, even after she felt she had tried everything. This is a common problem that tests many horse owner's patience. I put the question to our forum members and they've responded with some good advice.

I have been doing the Parelli Natural Horsemanship and I listen to Clinton Anderson, they both have said to back you horse up. Doing ground work first and backing specifically makes your horse back off you. Watch horses in the pasture. The one who backs up first when they are biting at each other is the looses. Make your horse back up, until he stops.
