Rain Scald or Rain Rot

With good horse keeping, skin problems like rain scald are unlikely. But rain scald can occur during bouts of rainy weather, when the skin on a horse's back is not able to completely dry out and is invaded by a bacteria. It's more common in horses who may be in poor condition. Find out how to identify rain scald (or rain rot), how you can prevent it and how to treat it.
