For those of you thinking of buying a horse, this is a great time. Traditionally prices go down slightly in the fall. This may be the best time to go horse shopping. But are you ready to own a horse. Do you know the basics of horse care? Find out with the Horse Ownership Readiness Quiz.

(1) Cooper says:

There is no set time that you must spend with your horse a day. It all depends on the horse and the owner. For example a yearling that has been started at the basics (tying, standing, grooming, and comands) need you to spend more time with them so they get accostomed to people. Where as a older ‘done it all’ horse doesn’t need as much time and hadling. Of course this is all relevant to the time you have and time the horse needs. It all depends on the individuality of the horse and owner.
