Horse Genealogy

Friday July 1, 2005
I am anxiously awaiting the delivery of my new horse; a leggy gray Thoroughbred mare whose placid nature amply explains her unremarkable race career and demotion to school horse and broodmare. While I wait I’m entertaining myself by making plans for our future and researching her pedigree. Several online databases make this easy.

Most major breed websites have pedigree databases that allow you to look up your horse’s or pony’s family tree. Whether you want to find out about your horse’s ancestors, are dreaming up names for a foal, are curious about a famous horse, or need a cool name for a fictional horse you’ll find lots inspiration and information at All Breed Pedigree Database
