On the Fifth Day of Horses my true love gave to me....five bristling brushes.
Image: PriceGrabber When mud, frozen ground, or snow makes it difficult for a horse to groom itself and scratch its back, a good brushing is welcome. It's a great way to spend time with your horse when it's too cold to ride. And if your horse wears a blanket, it will probably be relieved to have the blanket taken off and have all those places it can't scratch itched by its best friend, you. You'll know you've hit a 'good spot' when your horse stretches out its neck, gets a dreamy look in its eye and starts wiggling its lips.
