When I was a kid, there was no such thing as large round bales. In fact, many farmers were still putting small round bales in their barns. For years, we fed only small squares and for feeding in the pasture or lugging along when travelling, they're still the best choice-although they're sometimes harder to find.
Large rounds took awhile to catch on, but once they did, it became common to see them in every pasture and paddock. Here's how to feed rounds, store them and find the best ones for your horse.
