Guinness World Records has dubbed him the world's smartest horse. Lukas, an 17 year old OTTB that was running out of options, was bought by Karen Murdock, who had planned to turn him into a riding horse, and re-sell him. Now almost nine years later, Lukas and Karen have formed an enviable bond brought about by years of careful training and learning to trust. Lukas performs tricks and liberty work, obviously enjoys his task; a complete turnabout of the "uncooperative and dangerous" horse that Karen first brought home.
Lukas has appeared on television shows like Inside Edition, featured on numerous websites and was nominated for the 2010 Equine Vision Award sponsored by Pfizer and American Horse Publications. He's thrilled his fans with his ability to discern shapes and colors, his tricks such as bowing, catching a handkerchief and by performing dressage maneuvers at liberty.
You can watch Lukas perform in his own documentary, "Playing With Lukas". Or visit his website at http://www.playingwithlukas.com/
