Horse Grooming Tip: How to Make Baby Wipes

A lot of grooming tips involve using baby wipes. Readers seem to use these for everything from pre-class touch ups to tack cleaning. Stephanie Brown, Your Guide to Parenting Babies & Toddlers has instructions for assembling your own wipes. What a great cost cutting tip, that is easy to do. I can see keeping these on hand during the warmer months to wipe my hands with after Trillium has slobbered all over my hands eating her favorite sweet feed treat. Of course, I don't really mind, but my hands do stick to the steering wheel of the truck--so sticky hands might be a safety hazard.

Great idea to have baby wipes on hand (for many uses!).

Be sure to compare costs of making to cost of “store brand” sold in”refill packs”. Also, check into how long the home made can be stored, versus how quickly you will use them. I seem to recall they get a funky smell (from the oil I suppose) – though I could be remembering a different product.

I keep a box of them in my tack box at the barn. Useful for cleaning up after grooming…me and the horse!
