Horse Training at Every Age

I've had horses at just about every stage of life. Thor was six weeks old and still beside his mother when we got him.

My daughter's horse is 14 and his experience helps her learn new skills more easily.
And I've owned horses as old as 30 that were still capable of giving a young beginner rider a great experience. My own mare Trillium just turned 13 and my daughter's horse is 14. Lots of folks consider a horse over the age of fifteen too old. I think the years between 15 and 20 to be the best! Horse owners often wonder what they can do with their horses at any given age. What can you do with a foal, weanling, yearling or two year old? What should you be training them? What are they capable of? Good handling and care is important at every age and you are always training your horse whether you intend to or not.
