Names for Horses

Tuesday December 11, 2007
When you get a new horse naming it can be a big decision! My daughter recently brought home a project pony belonging to her aunt. The idea is to get the pony well started under saddle and then sell her to a good home where she will do great things. The pony is a beautiful deep bay, sturdily built, probably a draft cross and well handled but very green. My daughter agonized over a worthy name for weeks until we were driving on a six lane highway behind a Ford Focus So now we have a Focus on the yard - not one with tires but four legs! Horse Names - Choosing a Name For Your Horse has lots of ideas for horse names too.

Do you already have your horse named? What is your horse's name? How did it get that name? And does your horse have a registered or show name and a stable name? Leave your answers and any other comments about horse names by clicking comments below!
