Take the Poll: What is the Most Common Rider Problem?
Friday October 12, 2007
Bad habits? I have a few. Besides bad posture and a tendency to lean forward I tend to ride with my hands too flat. I have to remind myself 'thumbs up!'. Sometimes I chant: sit up, thumbs up, sit up thumbs up. Helps to keep the rhythm while doing a posting trot too. So what do you think is the most common problem riders have? I've listed 10 on the poll, but you might think of others. Leave your thoughts in the comments below.

i some times lean in on corners people say its motor bike riding
took me ages to keep my heels down and ended up having to buy super short boots that leave the ankle free to crack it!
I am a pilates teacher rider and physio .
Nearly all the bad habits rider have could be solved by learning HOW TO apply Pilates in the saddle. It is easy and all the tops riders are now heading towards Pilates. But you must learn how to apply it. My program will teach you that look at

i tend to lean forward in when going into canter and i also look down to check if we’re on the correct leg then throw the horse off balance and end up on the wrong leg. i have videos of me riding and the whole way through all you can hear is my instructor shouting sit up.
Rider problems may tend to be focused on the physical. My opinion is that safety is not taught properly and that is the biggest problem regarding horsemanship.
