Competitive Trail Riding
Monday June 18, 2007
The weekends have been busy for us. Last weekend my daughter and I rode in a schooling show. This weekend my daughter rode in a competitive trail ride and I was her 'pit crew'. She did very well, winning her weight division, the junior division and reserve champion over-all. This 25 mile competitive trail ride was run in conjunction with a 49 mile competitive trail ride and a 12 mile mileage ride for those who just want to get the feel of distance riding. Competitive trail riding is just one type of distance riding. Even if you love the show ring, distance riding is something you might want to try just once. You will learn so much about your horse and understand why distance riders say, "to finish is to win". Photo 2007 K. Blocksdorf: Summer Solstice CTR
