Free Online Horse Management at Rendaivu

Thursday November 23, 2006
Rendaivu allows you to track and plan all of your horse activities online: training, competitions, reproduction, and health. Stables and clubs can organize their information as well. You can also post photos to share, meet other horse lovers and print out your management records. The tour will introduce you to all the features. Sign-up is quick and the amazing thing is that this service (so far) is free.

This software does look good, but I am finding it to be buggy. I think they quickly turn out features without good testing. It almost does too much for me.

I have to disagree about the buggy problems. I have registered all of the horses in my barn (over 30) and have updated all of their records. I have also created an organization representing my stable and have used all of the features. Everything has worked perfect so far. As for the new features I am very please that they listen to what users want and release them in a timely fashion. I was most impressed when I made a suggestion and it was quickly implemented. This product is great and has saved me money already :)

I am leary that they will start charging fees after all my data is entered.

OMG thanks for the link. This site is fantastic and has EVERYTHING I need. I will be so much more organized once I enter my 47 horses :) I love it thanks!

PS I emailed the site owners asking if there was a plan to start charging and they responded that any features that are free now will always be free. Thats good enough for me. Actually even if it was not free I think I would still pay for this service. The tour got me hooked :D

I too believe there will be fees somewhere down the road. How can anyone stay in business for free? It’s not like their site is an add on to another business, like the brick and mortar stores who have a website to complement the core business. I would want them to tell me how they will continue to finance this in the future before I would add too much data. Question: How many people are actually using all the features?

There are tons of free website all over the net. Facebook for example is a huge one. Rendaivu is ad supported just like facebook so they don’t have to charge users anything. Users generate clicks which generates ad sales. You can also use the forum to see how many people are using it and there are almost 4000. I use it and have not had any problems so I love it.

I also met the creaters at the Royal this week and was very impressed with how nice they were.

Facebook has a large amount of advertising money coming in. All the ads so far on Rendaivu seem to be from the creator. Their general ads are actually free? Still not seeing where the revenue will come from. I guess it comes down to whether they have enough financial backing to stay in business until they are large enough to get advertisers… Time will tell.
