Learn to do an Emergency Dismount

Friday June 23, 2006
What do you do when your horse bolts and is headed for the partially closed arena door, or a thicket of low slung branches? It's a good time to do an emergency dismount. Like any emergency plan, you'll want to give this skill a few run throughs before you need it. Practice with your coach or a knowledgeable friend and you'll be ready to 'bale out' safely if the need arises.
