How to Fall off of a Horse

Wednesday June 14, 2006
Pride may goeth before a fall, but it's an inevitable part of horseback riding, although it's certainly one we'd all like to avoid. I haven't fallen off for years now. The last time I came off was when a large pony I was riding bolted and then came to a dead stop. Thankfully, I was wearing my helmet because the first thing that hit the ground was my head. Only my pride was bruised.

Safe riding practices can go a long way towards preventing falls. How to Fall off of a Horse gives you tips on how to avoid a fall, and what to do before, during and after a fall that will minimize the risk of injury to body (and pride).
