horse slaughtering is bull****! you can give it away or sell it for some good money!
Horse slaughter is not the best way to take care of old and crippled and starving horses but it sure beats the hell out of seeing them starving and shaking and dirty and beaten being processed thru the sale rings after the owners have abandoned them at a horse sale where they are destined to be hurt, pushed, shoved, and crowded into trailers to be taken to the state line to suffer more atrosities while they wait for their destined death. I say do it before they suffer the loses and pains, or take care to get them sold before they get in such shape that no one could or would try to rescue them. Do the animal a favor and sell it while it can still be salvaged and helped. You will make more on it and sleep better at night. I cried at what i saw at a local horse sell last night and people there is something wrong here. …..how could we stand by and let someone do this to the point i saw last night with out doing something to help before they reached the sell barns????? You better hope you do not live close to me and let your horse go unattended I will be the first to raise hell with you and the authoritys.I would rather see you mad then look into the eyes of those creatures I saw last night and say I did nothing to speak for you….
I agree, rose. More people who breed horse indiscriminately in their backyards should be made to attend these auctions. Maybe it would open their eyes. But perhaps even more sadly, it wouldn’t.
