The weather is cooling in the Northern Hemisphere and those of you in the Southern Hemisphere are looking forward to summer! Wherever you are the weather is in transition and you are looking at either storing away your horse’s rugs and sheets, or getting them out. In either case now is the time to have those blankets, rugs and sheets repaired and cleaned—before the cold weather hits, or before they are put away. If you store them where mice or moths might be a problem tuck a few camphor blocks, moth balls, or cedar blocks in with them. Make it easier and safer to put blankets on your horses by folding them correctly when you take them off, or put them away. Fold a Horse Blanket, Cooler, Rug, or Sheet Step-by-Step shows you the easy steps to prepare your blankets for the next use, or storage.
